Get answers to common questions about Underarm Wax.
Most clients enjoy three to six weeks of smooth underarms depending on individual hair growth cycles. Factors like hormones, exfoliation routine, and waxing frequency influence timing; scheduling every four to six weeks helps maintain consistent results.
Some redness or mild sensitivity is normal for a few hours after waxing. We use careful technique and recommend pre/post care to minimize irritation and reduce ingrown hairs, including gentle exfoliation and soothing topical products.
Trim longer hair to about a quarter-inch, arrive with clean dry underarms, and avoid heavy deodorants or lotions that day. Inform your esthetician about skin sensitivities or medications so we can tailor the service.
Avoid hot showers, heavy sweating, and deodorant for 24 hours when possible. Apply an alcohol-free soothing lotion and gently exfoliate after 48–72 hours to prevent ingrowns. Follow specific tips provided by your esthetician.
Underarm waxing is generally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, though skin may be more sensitive from hormonal changes. Inform us about your pregnancy or medications and we will adjust techniques and products for comfort and safety.
Ideally hair should be about a quarter-inch (4–6 mm) long for effective waxing. If hair is too short waxing may be less effective; if too long a quick trim improves comfort. We can assess growth during booking.
